Västgöta Nation Choir
The Västgöta Nation Choir (VGNK) is the nation’s largest and mixed choir. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings, from 18:20 to 21:00, in the Grand Hall at Västgöta Nation. The choir performs every year at various events at the nation and can also be booked for other events in and outside of Uppsala. We are a very social choir and organize many parties and other activities.
Our repertoire is varied; we sing everything from folk songs and traditional music to pop and musicals!
The choir is run as a nonprofit organization within Västgöta Nation. New members are accepted at the start of each semester.

Västgöta Nation Women’s Choir
The Västgöta Nation Women’s Choir (VGDK) is a midsize choir with big ambitions, both musically and socially!
We welcome anyone who wishes to sing the alto or soprano part, regardless of gender identity. Every member’s commitment is important to us, and we place great value on fostering a strong sense of community and close bonds among the singers. A shared sense of fellowship and the joy of making music are central to our choir life; we frequently get together for post-rehearsal drinks, social gatherings, and other fun activities.
Musically, we strive for continuous development through new and engaging challenges. Our repertoire ranges from classical and sacred music to newly composed modern pieces and folk-inspired tunes. The choir performs at events both at the nation and elsewhere, and we also organize our own concerts.
We rehearse on Thursdays from 18:15 to 21:15.

Västgöta Nation Men’s Choir
The Västgöta Nation Men’s Choir (VGMK), also known as “Korgossarna.” The choir is always reaching for new goals and is regarded as one of Uppsala’s best choirs, with victories in various choral competitions across Europe under its belt and a strong sense of ambition. We constantly strive to improve ourselves and our singers, while remaining true to our social traditions. One of the choir’s defining characteristics is that we perform at nation events and give concerts on a regular basis to liven up the atmosphere in Uppsala. Our repertoire is hard to pin down, but it’s suitable for both cathedrals and more informal gatherings at the nation.
Korgossarna has a long tradition of performing at events both large and small, including anniversary and graduation parties, dissertation dinners, formal dinners, and gasques, among others. The audience always leaves with a smile on their faces. If you’d like to book the choir or are interested in becoming a singer with Korgossarna, please contact our chairperson.
Rehearsals are held on Sundays in the nation's main hall from 17:00 to 20:00.

Västgöta Nation Sport’s Association
The Västgöta Nation Sports Association (VGIF) has been flying the flag for sports at the nation for nearly 50 years! Pack your bag and work up a sweat for an hour or so each week with VGIF! VGIF is for anyone who enjoys sports and staying active between social events and studying. VGIF also organizes Wennerbergswarfet. A race which concludes with a party at the nation. Wennerbergswarfet takes place every spring semester. Remember our motto: It’s not about winning—it’s about looking good!
In the fall of 2026, VGIF will be hosting a running group. They meet on Sundays mornings outside the nation building. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience!
